Content requirements

Effective October 8, 2026 · History

These requirements apply to every clip submitted to a Seeded campaign. They're part of the Clipper terms. A campaign's brief can add to them but never relaxes them. The short version is on our rules page.

The short version

  • Use the campaign's asset and follow its brief.
  • Say it's paid: turn on the platform's paid partnership label, or put #ad at the start of the caption.
  • Real views only. No bots, bought views, pods or paid boosts.
  • Original work, from your own verified account, posted after the campaign starts.
  • Keep it public until the campaign ends.

Summaries like this one, and the “In short” lines below, help you read. The full text is what applies.

1What every clip needs#

In short: The asset, the brief, your own account, the right time and a public post.

  • The asset. Use the campaign's sound, clips or other asset exactly as the brief says. For music, use the official sound on the platform, audible through the clip.
  • The brief. Follow its format, length, caption, tags and any do's and don'ts.
  • Your account. Post from a social account you own and have verified with us.
  • The right time. Post after the campaign starts and before it ends. Posts made before don't count, even if submitted later.
  • A new post. Each post is made for one campaign and submitted once. Don't resubmit a post, re-upload the same video, or submit one post to two campaigns.
  • Public and visible. Keep the post public, with views, likes and comments visible, until the campaign ends and at least until the clip locks. Hidden stats can't be counted.
  • Worth watching. Make something people want to see. Low-effort clips, like an unedited asset or a static image with the sound, are rejected unless the brief asks for them.

2Say it's paid#

In short: You're paid to post, so the post has to say so, clearly and up front.

You're paid for these posts, so advertising law (such as the US FTC's Endorsement Guides and similar rules elsewhere) and the platforms require you to say so. Do it on every clip:

  • TikTok

    Turn on Content disclosure, then Paid partnership (or Brand organic content), when you post.

  • Instagram

    Add the Paid partnership label, or turn on the branded content setting.

  • YouTube Shorts

    Tick Includes paid promotion when you upload.

  • Anywhere

    If there's no setting, start the caption with #ad where people see it without tapping more.

Don't hide the disclosure among other hashtags, and don't rely only on vague tags like #sp, #spon or #collab. If the brief gives a required tag or caption, use it as well. If you're unsure, ask in a ticket before posting.

3Real views only#

In short: Every view has to come from a real person who chose to watch.

These are fake engagement and are never allowed:

  • bots, view farms, emulators or scripts that watch, like, follow or comment;
  • buying views, likes, follows, comments, saves or shares, or accounts that have them;
  • engagement pods, groups, chains or follow-for-follow and watch-for-watch swaps;
  • paid promotion (such as TikTok Promote or ads) unless the brief allows it;
  • reposting or duetting your own clip from other accounts you control to multiply views;
  • misleading captions, thumbnails or tags meant to trick people into watching;
  • doing anything to another clipper's posts or stats, such as reporting them falsely or sending them fake views.

4Your own work#

In short: Don't take other people's clips, and don't recycle your own across campaigns.

  • Don't post or submit clips made by someone else, even with changes.
  • Don't re-upload a clip you already posted, for this or another campaign. A fixed clip after a rejection has to be a new edit that fixes the reason.
  • Use only the campaign's asset and material you have the rights to. Don't add other copyrighted music, footage or logos.
  • AI tools are fine for editing. Don't use AI to depict a real person saying or doing something they didn't, and label AI-generated content where the platform asks.

5Never allowed in a clip#

In short: Content that's harmful, misleading or illegal, whatever the brief says.

  • sexual content, nudity, or anything that sexualizes minors;
  • hate, harassment, bullying or threats against anyone;
  • graphic violence, gore, self-harm or dangerous challenges;
  • illegal goods or activity, or promoting alcohol, tobacco, vaping, gambling or other age-restricted products to people under the legal age;
  • false or misleading claims about the product, health, money or anything else, and claims the brief doesn't support;
  • claims about how much you or anyone earns clipping, in a campaign post;
  • impersonating a person, brand or Seeded, or someone else's private information;
  • anything that breaks the platform's community guidelines.

6Platform rules#

In short: Each platform has a format we can count.

  • TikTok: a public video on the account you connected with Continue with TikTok.
  • Instagram: a public Reel on the account you verified.
  • YouTube: a public Short, not a long video, on the channel you verified.

Each campaign lists the platforms it accepts. Clips on other platforms aren't counted.

7Rejection reasons and how to fix them#

In short: Every decision names one of these reasons, or the client's own.

  • Wrong sound

    What it meansThe campaign sound isn't on the post.

    What to doRepost with the exact sound from the brief and submit the new post.

  • Wrong format

    What it meansLength, layout or format doesn't match the brief.

    What to doCheck the brief's format rules, re-edit and submit a new post.

  • Brief not followed

    What it meansThe post misses something the brief asks for.

    What to doReread the brief and submit a new post that follows it.

  • Low quality

    What it meansThe edit is below the bar for this campaign.

    What to doTighten the edit and submit a new post.

  • Cuts off the beat

    What to doRe-edit to the beat and submit a new post.

    What to doAppeal if you think we're wrong; otherwise see real views.

  • Client: off brand, wrong message, quality, other

    What it meansThe client didn't approve it, with their note.

    What to doRead their note. Appeal if it follows the brief.

Disagree? Appeal once per rejection from the clip or its ticket. We aim to answer within 3 business days.

8What happens when rules are broken#

In short: Most problems are a rejection and a fix. Fraud ends accounts.

  • A clip misses the brief

    The clip is rejected with a reason. Fix it and submit a new post.

  • No disclosure, or post taken down early

    The clip is rejected, or its locked earnings clawed back. Repeats lead to removal from campaigns.

  • Reused or stolen content

    Rejected or clawed back, and a warning. Repeats lead to suspension.

  • Fake engagement

    The clip earns nothing and your balance may be held while we check. Confirmed fraud usually means a permanent ban.

  • Threats, hate or harassment

    Suspension or a permanent ban, in the app and our Discord.

We tell you the reason each time, and you can appeal any of these. What happens to money is in the Clipper terms.
