Legal Clippers
Clipper terms
Effective October 8, 2026 · History
These terms are for clippers: anyone who joins a Seeded campaign, submits a clip or receives a payout, on the website or in Discord. They add to the Terms of service, and include the content requirements and, if you refer friends, the referral terms.
The short version
- You're paid by Seeded, at each campaign's rate per 1,000 verified views, up to the campaign's budget and any cap per clip.
- A clip locks 7 days after you post it. Its views are final then, and what it earned is yours.
- Payouts go to PayPal once your balance reaches $10.00, at least once a month. We charge no fees.
- Every rejection names its reason and how to fix it, and you can appeal.
- We claw back locked earnings only for the four reasons listed here, within 180 days of a clip locking, unless it was fraud.
- Your clips stay yours. We don't use them in ads or to train AI without asking.

1Our relationship#
In short: You work for yourself. Seeded runs the campaign and pays you.
Brands, artists, labels, studios and other clients ("clients") fund campaigns. Seeded runs each campaign, reviews clips, counts views and pays clippers. Your agreement is with Seeded, not with the client, and Seeded is responsible for paying you for approved clips, whether or not the client pays us.
You're an independent contractor, not an employee, agent or partner of Seeded or any client. You choose which campaigns to join, when and how to make your clips, and you can clip for others, including other platforms. Nothing here guarantees you any amount of work or pay.
2Who can clip#
In short: Be 13 or older (with a guardian if under 18), use one account, and only post from accounts you own.
- You meet the age rules in the Terms of service. If you're under 18, or under the age of majority where you live, your parent or guardian agrees to these terms for you and payouts go to a PayPal account they control.
- One clipper account per person. Earnings from extra accounts aren't paid.
- You may only submit posts from social accounts you own or fully control and have connected and verified with us. TikTok verifies through Continue with TikTok; Instagram and YouTube through a code in your bio.
- You aren't in a country or on a list that US or other applicable sanctions bar us from paying.
- Seeded staff can't earn from campaigns.
3How campaigns work#
In short: Each campaign shows its rate, rules and what's left of its pot before you join.
Each campaign shows its rate per 1,000 views, its brief and rules, the platforms it accepts, and how much of its pot is left. It may also set a minimum number of views before a clip earns, a cap on what one clip can earn, a limit on how many clippers can join (with a waitlist), and a higher rate for clips from accounts connected through TikTok Business. The brief is part of these terms for that campaign.
A campaign closes when its end date passes or when most of its budget is spent. Once it closes you can't join or submit, and its clips lock straight away. Views a clip gets after the budget is used up don't earn.
We try not to change a campaign's rate while it's running. If we have to, we say so in the campaign first. Changes never touch locked earnings. We may pause, end or remove a campaign at any time, for example if a client's rights to the asset change.
4Making and submitting clips#
In short: Follow the brief and the content requirements, post after the campaign starts, and keep it up.
- Every clip must meet the content requirements and the campaign brief, including the disclosure that it's paid (how).
- Post it after the campaign starts and before it ends, then submit the link on the website or with /submit in Discord. Each post can be submitted once, to one campaign.
- You can have up to 10 clips open in one campaign at a time. Rejected clips don't count.
- Keep the post public, with likes and comments visible, until the campaign ends and at least until the clip locks. A brief can ask for longer.
- Don't boost a clip with paid ads, promotion tools or another account's reposts unless the brief allows it.
5How clips are reviewed#
In short: Every decision comes with a reason. You can fix a clip, or appeal.
Our team reviews submitted clips, with help from automated checks. A check can flag a clip for a closer look; a person makes the decision.
Some campaigns also let the client approve clips. They have 3 days after our approval, or up to 30 if the campaign says so. A clip they don't decide on in time is approved automatically. A client rejection must give a reason, and you can appeal it like any other.
Every decision comes with a reason and what to do next. The content requirements list the reasons and fixes. If a clip is rejected, you can post a fixed clip as a new post and submit that.
Appeals. If you think a rejection is wrong, appeal it once from the clip's page or its ticket in Discord. A different person from the original reviewer looks at it where we can, and we aim to answer within 3 business days.
6How views are counted#
In short: We read each post's public view count until it locks, 7 days after posting.
We count your post's views from the platform, and keep checking them until the clip locks.
A clip locks 7 days after it was posted (or after it was submitted, if we can't tell when it was posted), or when its campaign closes, whichever comes first. The view count at lock is final. Views after that don't count.
Only views we can verify count. If a platform hides or stops reporting a post's views, we use the last count we could verify. If we see signs of fake engagement, the views in question don't count (see fraud).
If any screen shows view numbers as simulated, it says so, and no money moves from simulated views.
7How you earn#
In short: Views times the rate, divided by 1,000, up to any cap and the campaign's budget.
An approved clip earns its verified views multiplied by the campaign's rate per 1,000 views, rounded down to the cent:
- Nothing is earned below the campaign's minimum views, or above its cap per clip.
- All clips together can't earn more than the campaign's budget. Budget is used in the order views are verified.
- If the campaign has a TikTok Business rate and your account is connected, the clip earns that rate while the connection stays on. If you disconnect before the clip locks, it earns the standard rate.
- Only approved clips earn. Clips waiting on review, flagged, appealed or rejected earn nothing until approved.
Before a clip locks, its earnings are an estimate and can go up or down as views change, or if the clip is rejected after a closer look. Once a clip locks, its earnings are final, except for a clawback.
Tier bonuses, level and quest rewards, badge cash and referral rewards are extra. Seeded pays them and sets their rules in the app. Badge cash, when we run it, pays once per badge and only on counted numbers: clips that were approved, locked and still up 14 days after posting. We may change or end these extras for the future without affecting what's already been credited.
8Payouts#
In short: PayPal, from $10.00, at least once a month, in US dollars, with no fees from us.
We pay your available balance once it reaches $10.00. Payouts go out in batches, usually weekly and at least once a month, to the PayPal email you give us, in US dollars. A balance below $10.00 carries over.
Before we can pay you, you need to:
- agree to these terms (on the website, or with I agree in Discord);
- add a PayPal email;
- verify your email address, if you signed up with an email and password;
- file a tax form or confirm your identity, when we ask (see taxes).
Seeded charges no fees. PayPal may charge fees or convert currency on its side; those are between you and PayPal. A payout counts as paid only when PayPal confirms it. If it fails or bounces, the money returns to your balance and we tell you. Check your PayPal email carefully: if you give us the wrong one and the payout is claimed, we'll help you get it back but can't promise to.
Balances never expire on our side. If you have a balance but no payout details, we'll remind you. After 2 years without payout details, we handle the balance as the unclaimed property law that applies requires.
9Taxes and identity checks#
In short: You're responsible for your taxes. We may ask for a tax form or an ID check before paying.
You're responsible for reporting and paying taxes on what you earn. We don't withhold tax unless the law requires us to.
- Outside the US: we may ask for a W-8BEN before your first payout.
- In the US: we may ask for a W-9 once your payouts in a calendar year would reach the reporting threshold (currently $600.00), and send you the tax form the law requires (such as a 1099).
- Identity: once your lifetime earnings reach a set amount (currently $1,000.00), we may ask you to confirm your identity with an identity check.
Payouts wait until we have what we asked for; your balance stays safe meanwhile. Tax forms are filed on the website only. Your yearly earnings statement is on your Wallet and with /statement in Discord.
10Fake engagement and fraud#
In short: Fake views earn nothing, and can cost you your account.
Bots, bought views, view farms, engagement pods, paid boosts the brief doesn't allow, reposting your own clip from other accounts, and every other way of inflating numbers are banned. The content requirements list them. We look for them with automated checks and human review.
If we find fake engagement on a clip, it's rejected and the views don't earn. We may also hold your balance while we look into it, for no longer than we reasonably need, and tell you that we're doing so.
11Clawbacks#
In short: Locked earnings are taken back only for four reasons, and you can appeal.
After a clip locks, we take its earnings back (a "clawback") only if we find that:
- its views were fraudulent;
- the post was deleted or made private before the campaign ended;
- it broke the content requirements or the brief in a way we couldn't reasonably see at review;
- it reused someone else's content, or your own clip from another campaign.
Except for fraud, we only claw back within 180 days of the clip locking. A clawback takes back that clip's earnings and nothing else. We tell you which clip, the reason and the amount, and you can appeal it through support. The amount comes off your balance; if that takes it below zero, future earnings cover the difference. We'll ask you to pay money back only in cases of fraud.
If a client or we ask you to take a post down for a reason that isn't your fault, such as a rights problem with the asset, it isn't a clawback: you keep what the clip earned. Please take it down within 48 hours of being asked.
12Warnings, suspensions and closing accounts#
In short: The response fits the problem. Earnings that weren't affected are still paid.
When a clip breaks the rules, we usually start with a rejection and a reason. Repeated or serious breaches can lead to removal from a campaign, a suspension, or a permanent ban. Fraud, threats and other serious abuse can lead straight to a ban. The content requirements show the usual steps.
While you're suspended, you can't join campaigns or submit clips, and payouts pause. We tell you the reason and how to appeal.
If we close your account for any reason other than fraud, we pay you the earnings that the breach didn't affect, once the usual payout requirements are met. You can close your own account once you've been paid, from Account settings.
13Your clips and the rights in them#
In short: You own your clips. The client gets to see and report on them, and nothing more without your OK.
You own your clips. When you submit one, you give us and the client running that campaign a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to view, link to, embed, take screenshots and thumbnails of, and record statistics about the clip, and to show it in reports and case studies about that campaign's results, for as long as the post is up and for reporting afterwards. The post itself stays on your account.
- Ads need your OK. We don't download and re-upload your clip, or run it as an ad, unless the campaign asks for ad rights (such as a TikTok Spark Ads code or whitelisting) and you choose to give them. The platform's own tools then set how long they last.
- No AI training. We don't use your clips to train AI models, and we don't allow clients to do so through us.
- Your name. Clients see your handle and stats for their campaign. Other uses, like your public profile or the wins channel, are your choice; the privacy policy lists them.
Campaign assets. The client gives you a limited, non-exclusive licence to use the campaign's asset (the sound, footage, logo or other material) only in clips for that campaign, on the platforms it lists, and to leave those posts up after the campaign ends unless you're asked to take them down. Don't use the asset for anything else.
14What you promise#
In short: Your clip is yours to post, follows the rules and doesn't mislead anyone.
For each clip you submit, you promise that:
- apart from the campaign's asset, you own or have the rights to everything in it, including music, footage and the people in it;
- it follows the brief, the content requirements, the platform's rules and the law, including advertising and disclosure law such as the US FTC's Endorsement Guides;
- it doesn't make claims about the product or brand beyond what the brief allows;
- the account you posted from is yours and its audience is real.
15Messages from us#
In short: We tell you about your clips and pay in Discord, by email or by push, and you choose which.
We send notices about your clips, earnings, payouts, tickets and account through the channels you choose: Discord DMs, email and phone alerts. You can change them in Notifications, and unsubscribe from any optional email from its footer. Some messages, such as payout receipts and account security notices, we always send.
16Questions and disputes#
In short: Open a ticket first. Formal disputes follow the Terms of service.
For anything about a clip, a decision or a payout, open a ticket under Support on the website or in our Discord. You can also email support@seeded.tech. Formal disputes follow the dispute section of the Terms of service, including the informal step and arbitration.
